monitoring dragonflies

It is time for a European Monitoring Scheme for Migratory Dragonflies

Ecosystem In the Sky and Insect Migration and Ecology Lab (Max Planck Institute of Animal Behaviour) are planning to initiate the monitoring of migratory dragonflies across Europe, bringing together the myriad of observatories and research stations across the continent that regularly catch and observe dragonflies on the move.

An organised scheme for dragonfly monitoring has been discussed for several years, but so far, no direct action has been taken.

Some of the stations and observatories that previously have shown interest in a scheme are listed below.

If you know of any site, or are the head of any site, that regularly observe or catch dragonflies that appear to be migrating, let us know.
